Funky Folds Blog Hop–June Edition!

Good morning! And welcome to the Funky Folds Blog Hop! We are a group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds. Funky actually means “modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way”… so we are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style. Think ‘easel’, ‘pop-up’, ‘gatefold’, ‘z-fold’, ‘shaped’ or 3D cards etc. The list is endless. All Blog Hops have an ‘anything goes’ theme using any type of ‘funky’ card fold!

For my funky fold, inspiration came from a swap card I received from Cindy F. It’s such cool use of the Beautiful Gallery Suite that I had to make one of my own. I used her layout, but changed all the colors, etc. I hope you like it! Also entering this in the Just Add Ink Challenge — choose two: Diecut, Flower or Ribbon! I actually used all three!!

I love the way the die cut on the left panel peeks out through the frame!! My colors are Petal Pink and Cloud Cover.

The card base measures 5 1/2″ x 11″, and you’ll score at 4″ and 8 1/4″. Then, cut off a portion of the right panel at an angle.

I cut the frame from the suite, and used the small portion on the front of the card (it’s embossed using the Damask Designs Embossing Folder), and the larger portion of the frame for the inside panel. No waste!!

Be sure you “hop” all the way through–these ladies are amazing!! I always get a ton of ideas from them!!

Here is your shopping list for today’s project! Don’t forget the Suite Sale!!

Such an elegant fold and card Tammy. A real stunner. Thanks for joining in with us this week at Just Add Ink.

  2. Oh I do like a surprise fold on a card. Your card is so pretty and elegant. I like the unexpected way you’ve angled the front then added the frame, and how the partially cut flower shows through the front then shines in full when you open it. Lovely. Thanks for sharing it with us at Just Add Ink.
