Yes, I have a whole box of new stuff, but the "old" Sunflowers just called my name!
I used my stamparatus to stamp the large sunflower image onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Because of the texture of the watercolor paper, it's sometimes necessary to stamp the image twice to get a good solid image! It's stamped in Versamark ink, then embossed with Black Embossing powder.
I used my ink refills (Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Balmy Blue) and the water painters to color my panel. For the petals, color in with Crushed Curry, then while still wet, add some highlights of Pumpkin Pie! I'm no artist, but I LOVE the depth I got with this one!!
The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches was my inspiration for the layout. At first I intended to add the balmy blue just around the flower, but didn't like the look so kept going! And, because my flower is so large, the sentiment worked better at the top right. So, I started with the sketch, but………….
Here are all the supplies I used on today's card. Click on any image to be taken to my shop. I so appreciate your support!
I love the pretty sunflower and the bright background! I had to laugh about how each decision drew you further away from the sketch — I can relate! So glad the sketch was a good starting point of inspiration for you! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
This is really beautiful. The flowers is so striking and I, too, totally hear you on the sketch deviations. But your result is absolutely wonderful. So glad you joined us this week at FMS!
