Celebrate Sunflowers!

This stamp set is one of my all-time favorite sets! It’s such a pretty sunflower, and so easy to color. This is a one layer card–so I colored it with Stampin’ Write Markers (Blends bleed through, so aren’t great for one layer cards!).

I wanted to play along with the Retro Rubber Challenge--the theme is birthday. The key is to use a set that’s over a year old. Celebrate Sunflowers has been around for a few years. Our stamp sets used to have a date on them, but they don’t anymore. I’m guess this one is 3-4 years old. It’s retiring after May 1st, and I will sorely miss it!

I used Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Old Olive for the sunflower. Then, I masked it, and blended some Balmy Blue for the background! I used 1″ strips of masking paper along the edges of my card to create the stamping space. The sentiment is from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set–really love the font in this set. It’s also retiring–be sure to shop early starting tomorrow to get some great deals on the last chance products!!
