Hi!! The "As You See It" current challenge is to use a Favorite Technique! Well, my current favorite is Off the Edge Die Cutting!! I just learned this, and I have soooo many ideas swimming in my head! Here's the first one I made! I used the Blessings of Home Bundle, and colored with Stampin' Blends–love the bright colors!!
Can you see how the dies was cut from one side of the cardfront?
Because I didn't want you to see the bleed through from the blends, I cut out one die to color, then cut the same die from the card front, and layered them!
The designer paper on the right side is from the Pattern Party DSP pack! I think the black really makes the bright flowers pop!
Here are the supplies I used on today's project:
That technique makes beautiful card fronts, Tammy! I love the paper you used behind the die cut! I really highlights the great job you did of colouring the flowers! Thanks for sharing your technique with us at As You See It Challenges!
You are right that the black makes those wonderful bright colours pop. Love the look of the die cut off the edge like that. It was a great idea to add a backing to hide the colour bleed from the Blends – much cleaner and neater that way. Thanks for joining in with us at As You See It Challenge.
So very fun, Tammy – I like to do this, too! Great tip on hiding the color bleeding, too – I love my Blends, but that’s definitely something to watch for! Your coloring for this spray of flowers is so fun – so cheery! Thanks so much for playing at As You See It!
Tammy this is indeed a fun technique and an easy way to add fun detail to a card! I love those bright flowers against the darker border panel behind – fabulous. Thanks for sharing with us over at As You See It this week!
