Watercolor Pencils–Cool Background

Good morning! How are you today?!! I’m doing great–although it would be nice to be on a beach somewhere! If you can’t be, maybe this card will help you imagine it! 🙂

To create this background (it’s easy!), you’ll need some watercolor pencils. I used the Asst 2, and the following colors: Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green. Take a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper (4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″), and just scribble onto the paper. You can go as dark or light as you’d like. Once your pencil is laid down, grab the large water painter–it’s got kind of a “flat” brush. “Paint” the water onto the paper–blending the colors as you go. It takes a fair amount of water–which is why we use the watercolor paper. Other cardstock won’t hold up.

To finish the card, I stamped images from the Seaside Wishes Stamp Set, and cut them out with the coordinating dies. The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of Basic White, then just cut the ends at angles using paper snips–nothing fancy!

Here are all the fun things used on this card! Remember, you can still get the Seaside Wishes Bundle at an extra 10% off through June 30th!
